Funny story... A few months ago our dryer took a poop on us.  We weren't ready financially to purchase one (right after Christmas) so I put out some feelers asking if anyone had a nice dryer they'd like to trade for a session.

Marley's mama reached out to me saying they had a like-new dryer that they'd love to trade and that they were pregnant for a baby girl.  I had photographed Marley's big brother, so I was so excited to take her photos and get a new dryer out of the deal!  They even delivered it to us in mid March when it was icky and cold outside.

Then COVID hit and we weren't sure if this photo session was going to happen. We corresponded back and forth, and thankfully restrictions were lifted just a couple of weeks before she was born!

Marley's mama mentioned that she liked the color blue and I purchased a gorgeous blue lace backdrop for her session from Hello Little Props.  They have amazing backdrops and clothing for sessions.  (If you're a photographer and need props, they're your girls!) I've never really used blue for a little girl before, but I sure will now!  It looked amazing.

When Marley and her family showed up to my Bay City, MI newborn studio, I was so excited to see that she looked so much like her adorable big brother, Wesley!  (Check out the photos in the gallery below if you don't believe me.)

One question Marley's mama had for me before the session was "what should we wear?"  It's a question that most mama's ask me.  If you're planning for your newborn photo session and aren't sure what clothing will look good, follow this link. The author, Rebecca Danzenbaker, of Rebecca Danzenbaker Photography spells it out perfectly!  Marley's mama did an amazing job of coordinating everyone's outfits.  And I had just the perfect wrap and headband for Marley that matched!
