A Joyful Family Session in Houghton, Michigan
There’s something magical about autumn in Houghton, Michigan. The Upper Peninsula is alive with color — golden birches, fiery maples, and the cool shimmer of Lake Superior just beyond the trees. As a photographer new to the area, I’ve been completely captivated by the beauty that surrounds this place. Every winding road and glowing treetop feels like a new discovery.
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful family among the changing colors, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Their baby boy was pure joy — full of smiles, giggles, and curious little glances at the falling leaves. His laughter was contagious, and every frame reflected the love and warmth this family shares.
As the sun dipped low, the golden light wrapped around them like a gentle embrace, highlighting not only the season’s beauty but the deep connection between parent and child. It was one of those sessions that reminded me why I love what I do — capturing genuine, fleeting moments that tell a family’s story.
Houghton has already stolen my heart, and I can’t wait to photograph more families in this breathtaking corner of Michigan.
